Digital Transgender Archive
Grace Detrevarah, a self-proclaimed "spiritual black trans woman" talks to Anna Keyes about her supportive parents and rebellious adolescence, and growing up in an environment far removed from a trans community. She recounts the first time someone recognized her as a woman and the subsequent sense of fulfillment. Detrevarah talks about coming to New York as a teenager to immerse herself in the transgender, formerly drag, community.
